In May 2008 VMware announced the acquisition of a US startup with R&D in Isreali called B-hive.
With the B-hive technology VMware gets visibility beyond the virtual machine, reaching the fundamental layer of any data center: the application one.
Monitoring the application performance will bring nearer the dynamic virtual data center, provisioning, moving, decommissioning virtual machines depending on the workload demand.
Today VMware announces that the acquisition is completed and one of its employee, Sharninder Khera, unveils on his personal blog that the B-hive technologies will be integrated and shipped somewhere in H1 2009.
Until that time the current version of the product, Conductor, can be tried for free as a virtual appliance.
