Release: Bromium vSentry 2.0

Bromium today released version 2.0 of its Security product based on the Xen hypervisor called vSentry. vSentry is a security product which uses a so called Microvisor which is a security-focused hypervisor that automatically, instantly and invisibly hardware-isolates each vulnerable Windows task in a micro-VM that cannot modify Windows or gain access to enterprise data or network infrastructure. Bromium vSentry 2.0 secures both 32- and 64 bit versions of Windows 7, and virtual desktops delivered with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (including Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View). This version is the follow-up of version 1.1 which was released in December last year.

Version 2.0 provides secure mobility, safe collaboration and improved managebility:

  • Isolates each user task that accesses an untrusted network, blocking all attacks from captive portals, the web and untrusted content.
  • Lets users access and edit content without ever having to trust it
  • Bromium Management Server (BMS) improvements
    • Granular monitoring of deployment progress
    • Automted gathering of critical information
    • Centralized policy management – simplified policy creation, editing, and distribution, event aggregation and reporting, as well as dashboards for monitoring key metrics.
