In December last year, Quest released version 7.2 of its VDI connection broker solution vWorkspace adding support for VMware vSphere 4.1 and adding a PowerShell Module and other new features. Now Quest has announced the availability of Maintenance Release 1 for vWorkSpace 7.2 adding support for Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 adding integration and capabilities for RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory.
Maintenance Release 1 adds the following new features:
- Support for Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
- Hyper-V Dynamic Memory integration- vWorkspace now supports provisioning and reconfiguring virtual machines from a Dynamic Memory perspective via the SCVMM virtualization platform, from the vWorkspace Management Console.
- RemoteFX integration – vWorkspace now supports provisioning and reconfiguring virtual machines from a RemoteFX perspective via the SCVMM virtualization platform, from the vWorkspace Management Console.
- RemoteFX Acceleration – EOP Xtream in vWorkspace 7.2 MR1 accelerates RemoteFX. When deployed to networks that have a latency that is higher than 20 ms, it can accelerate RemoteFX by more than 60%.
- Support for RemoteFX in vWorkspace Seamless Applications
- Support for Service Pack 1 for System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2
- Support for Microsoft UAG – vWorkspace now supports Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG) for Web Access role third party remote access support.

- Support for memory reconfiguration on 2008 R2 RTM
