At VMworld 2013, Trend Micro, the security software company demonstrated integration between VMware NSX and Trend Micro’s Deep Security. As announced on August 26, Trend Micro is collaborating with VMware to create a software defined data center which would allow customers to have an increased protection and automate security deployments.
The platform result of the collaboration between Trend Micro and VMware, would maximize all resources to host an application including storage, networking and security, including anti-malware, Web reputation and firewall.
According to a report published in August 2013 by research firm IDC titled “Worldwide Endpoint Security 2013-2017 Forecast and 2012 Vendor Shares” , Trend Micro was ranked as the number one provider in worldwide corporate server security revenue with a 30.8 percent share of the overall market.
