On April 9, LANDesk acquired VMware’s Protect product family of IT management solutions, formerly known as Shavlik Technologies.
LANDesk Software, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah , provides systems management, security management, service management, asset management and process management solutions.
The Shavlik Protect portfolio, how LANDesk is calling the solution, is aimed to expand LANDesk’s user-oriented IT management market presence accessing new channels and a product line that is going to complement its existing portfolio of Total User Management solutions.
LANDesk and VMware also signed a technology and services agreement, adding VMware to LANDesk’s list of industry leading Alliance Partners, which includes HP, Intel and Lenovo.
