At the beginning of November virtualization.info covered an old news about the upcoming launch of Office 2010 powered by App-V.
The product, called Office 2010 Click To Run, will be virtualized and streamed to customers’ desktops on demand. Bink.nu just published some screenshots of it:
This edition of the productivity suite still is in private beta, but there’s a way to see how it works.
Those customers that downloaded the public beta of Office 2010, released last week as well, can use it with their App-V installation by downloading the just released Microsoft Office 2010 Deployment Kit for App-V.
The final result should be pretty similar to what Microsoft will offer. Minus the hassle to own an App-V infrastructure, to package Office, and to keep it up to date.
