Together with the release of VMware Fusion 6, VMware released version 10 of its counterpart in desktop virtualization platforms for Microsoft’s OSes: Workstation.
This new release supports Windows 8.1 virtualization and enhances Unity mode to work with its new UI.
Like Fusion, VMware Workstation 10 supports the new hardware version 10, introduced in vSphere 5.5, that allows VMs up to 16 vCPUs, 8TB SATA disks and 64GB of memory, among the other new features we can count a new Virtual SATA disk controller, the support of 20 virtual networks, USB3, SSD pass through and the ability to use tablet sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and the ambient light sensor.
