On August 12, VMware announced the VMware Reference Implementations series which focus on actual customer environments. The objective of this Reference Implementations is to give an insider’s view of the architecture, together with VMware End-User Computing deployments case study from Global Service Provider.
VMware’s aim is to contribute in explaining to its customers how to get more benefits from VMware desktop virtualization products.
Global Service Provider’s case study, which is supposed to provide a managed services desktop deployment leveraging VMware Horizon View, features a key component known as a virtual storage appliance (VSA), these components should reduce storage latency by accommodating burst IO through a variety of approaches.
Sarah Semple, Product Line Marketing Manager, End User Computing Group- VMware, writes:
Our intention with this series is to provide enough details to help you understand how other customers are achieving success in production with VMware desktop virtualization products and to give you a leg up in your design and implementation plans. We have several more planned for release.
