Cisco just announced to have acquired privately-held vCider.
Californian vCider develops virtual network overlay technology for secure data center infrastructure., according to the acquisition the product will be integrated into Cisco’s Cloud Computing organization, and it is supposed to be an important move for Cisco Open Network Environment (ONE) strategy, in support of OpenStack which Cisco joined over a year ago.
vCider delivered a multi-tenant distributed virtual network controller, Cisco’s plan is to use its acquisition’s technology in order to develop virtualization infrastructure.
