On July 8, Rackspace announced its new CMO, Rick Jackson, who joined the company officially on July 1st, Jackson is an expert in the IT industry with over 25 years of experience and former CMO at VMware. The new Chief Marketing Officer is going to manage Rackspace’s marketing strategy, probably planning to approach the market furthermore with its hybrid cloud.

A part from Rick Jackson, and Jerry Chen , another former executive at VMware who was director of global alliances there, just joined Red Hat as VP of Global Alliances and he will be managing Red Hat’s relationships with HP, IBM, Dell and Cisco.

While we are wishing all the best to these directors with their new positions, we are wondering on the other side what is going on with VMware? There is the rumor that the virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions company might have difficulties in the future trying to maintain its market control.
