Catbird, the company providing security and compliance solutions with a focus on the virtualization market and VMware has signed an agreement where Catbird will OEM the vShield technology to integrate its functionality into its vSecurity product.
vSecurity proactively secures the virtual network and guest operating systems by analyzing and responding to network events and attack, and enforcing correct VM configuration. By integrating the vShield technology from VMware it will now be possible to deploy the vShield application from the Catbird product.
Besides that, the following functionality will be provided:
- Customers will be able to set up and deploy VMware vShield Security Groups to dynamically control network access between virtual machines in a virtual data center.
- Catbird’s TrustZones policy enforcer will include full VMware vShield controls to help monitor and quarantine out of compliance assets, reducing the risk of security breach and data loss.
- Catbird’s vCompliance will include VMware vShield controls to measure against PCI, NIST, FISMA, DIACAP and other compliance standards.
