Release: RingCube vDesk 4.0

Ringcube has announced the release of version 4.0 of its OS virtualization platform called vDesk, announcing a shift from management of hosted virtualization to providing so called Containers for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments on top of VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop.

The prior release, version 3.1 which was released in September last year, it provided enforcement of corporate security policies on mainly locally hosted virtualization solutions which could be centrally managed, and competed with solutions like VMware ACE, Microsoft MED-V and the MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution. With the Release 4 of vDesk Ringcube announces the end-of-life of their client hosted virtualization solution, and now competes against solutions like Parallels Virtuozzo Containers or Oracle Solaris Containers.
