Today, October 17, Vyatta announced the general availability of Vyatta Network OS 6.5 with new features such as  Hyper-V Support, Policy-Based Routing (PBR) and BGP Multipath among the others.

Furthermore the introduction of Hyper-V support, Vyatta Network OS 6.5 also delivers some improvements to its product:

  • Policy-Based Routing (PBR)
  • Virtual Tunnel Interface (VTI)
  • BGP Multipath
  • IPSec support for IPv6
  • Improved Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)

Dan Tuchler, Vice President of Marketing at Vyatta.

We are seeing a growing trend of datacenters deploying multiple hypervisors to provide the desired amount of flexibility and to properly serve the end-user, by adding support for Hyper-V, Vyatta now supports all of today’s top hypervisors and is the only networking company to provide software-based networking for VMware, Microsoft, Xen and KVM.
The features released today further strengthen Vyatta’s enterprise-class networking and security solution, all the while delivering improved agility to datacenters, the deployment of these technologies better prepares datacenters to rapidly react to changing business and application demands, to support private cloud infrastructure and provides a strategic roadmap toward Software-Defined Networking.
